The interesting market towns of Dolgellau and Machynlleth are about 20 minutes by car, while the coast, a little further, offers a wide choice of lovely beaches.

The cottage is part of a sheep and beef organic farm which has been  managed with conservation in mind.

The valley offers rural peace and tranquility and is an ideal for those who love the outdoor lifestyle.  Nearby can be found the peaks of Aran Fawddwy and Cader Idris.

In the village is the Meirion  Mill craft shop and cafe, restaurant and pubs. A little further afield are the Centre for Alternative Technology, narrow-gauge railways, RSPB reserves, leisure centres, pony trekking, quad biking and Coed-y-Brenin mountain biking center.
